AND I couldn't believe it when I happened to open an email...actually I was procrastinating and thought "Oh, I wonder what this is?" and it linked me through to Cloth Art at Hawkesbury 2011..... and who should be on the list but one of my all time favourite basket makers ....  John Garratt... I spent two weeks with him at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts  in Maine, USA, back in 1997 before I returned to Australia....John is such an amazing basket maker and so generous with his time and support!!! I can't wait!!!!

Baskets at the Belco Bizarre

Last night Belco Bizarre - a show of Belconnen artists  - opened at the Belconnen Arts Centre in Canberra. It is an eclectic show celebrating life in Belconnen.... and in such a beautiful venue and well worth the visit.

The new Dancers on a Lakefront really connect the building to the lake and are a great temptation for any basket maker.

Keep an eye out for my two baskets in the show:

Yogurt tub tops crocheted together with fishing line
Randomly woven black strapping
